Yes. This Catch the Wave Swim Club location is independently owned and operated by a local team while following the BraveSwim™ curriculum, safety standards, and coaching systems used across all Catch the Wave locations.
Catch the Wave’s Janesville location grew the same way every Catch the Wave location begins — by teaching wherever there was water and a need in the community. Beginning in 2018, lessons were held in borrowed and underused pool spaces as families looked for something more than recreational swim time. They wanted a program that taught real water safety, confidence, and survival skills — and the demand quickly followed. As swimmers progressed and word spread, the program continued to grow. Class sizes increased. Schedules filled. And eventually, the need for consistent, long-term pool access became unavoidable. In 2022, Catch the Wave secured a long-term lease and fully replaced the existing swim program inside what was formerly known as CSSA Gymnastics & Gym & Swim. The previous swim program was shut down, allowing Catch the Wave to take its place and establish a permanent home for Janesville families. Today, Catch the Wave operates its swim program entirely independently within the building. While the space is shared with a gymnastics facility, the pool, instruction, and swim experience are fully Catch the Wave. This location reflects how Catch the Wave operates — simple, functional, and focused on results, not flash.
To reinforce BraveSwim™ survival skills, we offer optional, age-appropriate Water Safety Challenges at no additional cost:
During these challenges, swimmers practice applying their survival skills fully clothed — entering the water and demonstrating age-appropriate safety responses in more realistic conditions.
Water Safety Challenges are offered on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Please check with your local Catch the Wave office for upcoming dates and availability.
