When should I use the Splash Back Guarantee instead of just pushing through?
Use Splash Back anytime a lesson doesn’t feel productive. If your child is tired, overwhelmed, or simply not able to engage that day, Splash Back lets you request a free make-up lesson so a “bad day” doesn’t become a lost investment and we can reset for a better next class.
What if my child cries, refuses to participate, or gets overwhelmed during swim lessons?
Big emotions happen – especially with young or hesitant swimmers. Crying or resistance doesn’t mean a child can’t learn, but it can make a particular lesson unproductive. If strong emotions prevent meaningful progress that day, the Splash Back Guarantee allows you to request a make-up lesson so learning can resume when your child is more regulated and ready.
What happens if my child isn't progressing as expected after a few months?
The Safer Swimmer Guarantee means we actively step in if a family isn’t satisfied with progress after three months—at no additional cost. We evaluate placement, instructor pairing, lesson format, and scheduling fit. If additional instruction or private coaching is part of the solution, it’s provided at no extra charge until progress resumes.
Do your guarantees mean my child will be drown-proof?
No. We intentionally avoid the term “drown-proof” because water is never risk-free. Our guarantees support Water Competency—the ability to surface, breathe, orient, and exit. This commitment focuses on building essential survival skills, while reinforcing that active adult supervision is always required.
I’m nervous about committing. What if the first lesson isn’t a good fit?
The First Lesson Satisfaction Guarantee allows families to try their first lesson completely risk-free. We want you to feel 100% confident moving forward. If after your first lesson you feel our teaching style, facility, or environment isn’t the right match for your family, we’ll refund your enrollment—no hassle involved.
What do Catch the Wave guarantees NOT promise?
Catch the Wave guarantees do not promise that a child will learn to swim in a fixed number of lessons, become drown-proof, or be risk-free around water. Water always carries risk. Instead, our Safer Swimmer Guarantee means progress won’t stall. Our guarantees exist to support meaningful progress, proper placement, and instructional adjustments—not to replace supervision or eliminate responsibility.
Do you guarantee my child will learn to swim in a certain number of lessons?
No. We do not guarantee a specific timeline as every child learns at a different pace. Instead, our Safer Swimmer Guarantee promises that progress won’t stall. If a swimmer is not advancing as expected, we adjust instruction, placement, and support at no extra cost until progress resumes.
Do your guarantees apply if attendance has been inconsistent?
Yes—our guarantees are designed to support real progress, not to penalize families. When a family asks for additional support through the Safer Swimmer Guarantee, we look at the full picture, including attendance, scheduling fit, and swimmer readiness. In many cases, the first step is helping families improve consistency—such as adjusting class times or lesson formats—so progress has the opportunity to build. From there, we determine the best next steps together to keep swimmers moving forward.
Are there any limits or conditions to Catch the Wave guarantees?
Yes—but our guarantees are built around people, not policies. Every swimmer and family is different, so we don’t rely on rigid, one-size-fits-all rules. While we review basic guidelines at enrollment, our commitment is constant: we will always work with you and your swimmer to support progress, confidence, and a positive experience.
Is a Splash Back the same thing as a makeup lesson?
Yes. A Splash Back is simply a makeup lesson. The difference is why it’s used. Splash Back applies when a lesson is unproductive due to emotional readiness, fatigue, or overwhelm—not because the class was missed. Any limits, scheduling rules, or eligibility details for makeup lessons are defined by your specific location and explained before enrollment.
Who decides when a guarantee applies and what happens next?
With the exception of the First Lesson Satisfaction Guarantee, Catch the Wave guarantees are applied collaboratively by your local leadership team. When a family raises a concern, we evaluate swimmer readiness, placement, lesson format, coaching fit, and consistency, then determine next steps together. Our guarantees are designed to restore progress and confidence—not to enforce rigid rules or automatic outcomes.
